The 2006
HPS Corvette Challenge
season got off to a good start with 27 cars showing up and 22 cars running for points. Roger Preston of Horse Power Sales in Pompano Beach, announced he will be giving away 2 full car cleaning kits during tonights event, each valued at $100.00 Thanks Roger, we like freebies.
We had our drama for the night when Joe Gutierrez was swapping his street tires for slicks he found 2 cross threaded studs. Knowing that removing the tires will completely ruin the studs and make the car unsafe for competition, he decided to leave the street tires and try running that way. Mike Clark continues his streak of tearing his equipment up, as he again broke. For those of you racing last night.... Do you know that Mike's brothers are named Darrell? (I found that funny too) Mikes car is safely locked up at the track because one of the Darrell brothers, went home with the keys. Hey Darrell I'm still laughing. We had Norm Goodman back with us and unfortunately he got bit by an electrical bug.

Dino Ramirez has picked up right where he left off last season. Dino mowed down the field and came up with the big trophy again. While Dino was picking them off on his way to Victory there was another competitor out there picking off last years big guns one by one. Bob Mancuso finally had the opportunity to race and beat those who beat up on him all last season. Final round saw Dino with his .093 light to Bob's .313 Needless to say..... sleeping while at the line will cost you every time. This evenings top 5 were.
- Dino Ramirez
- Bob Mancuso

Thanks to our Sponsor Horse Power Sales of Pompano Beach, and thanks to each of you for making it all such a blast. The laughs never stopped coming. See you in two weeks. Event # 2 is on Feb. 4Th
