John Perez takes the win in Event 9!

11/05/05 - Big CONGRATULATIONS to John Perez on his first Horse Power Sales Corvette Challenge win. John beat Jeremy Preston in the final race to give us an all JP final. To get into the finals John Perez beat his opponent in the semis, Bob Mancuso when Bob broke out. In a great side by side battle to the stripe, John took the win with a pass of 11.46 on a dial 11.40 to Mancuso's loosing 12.05 on a 12.08 dial. Jeremy Preston earned a bye run into the finals by taking out our points leader Dino Ramirez. Top 5 tonight were: 1) John Perez... 2) Jeremy Preston... 3rd) Bob Mancuso... 4th) Dino Ramirez... 5th) Talmadge Dobbs... To the new racers that showed tonight, great job.

OK now for the things we don't want to hear about but must report on. Typically we don't break or wreck cars, tonight that all changed. First car had a balancer pulley backout. 2nd car lost an INPUT shaft. Third car was totaled, in a one car meeting with the wall. Thankfully the driver and car had met all the safety requirements to run in the 10's during tech inspection. His car gave itself, in order to keep the driver safe, as the driver walked away. Fourth car lost a transmission.

After all the Hurricanes everyone was eager to hit the track and be with friends. 22 cars raced tonight and even those who broke had a great time.

I would like to THANK our Title SPONSOR HORSE POWER SALES of Pompano Beach for all that you do, without you this great time would not be possible. Big THANKS to MOROSO MOTORSPORTS PARK for you continued support of the program, your team is #1 in our book. Thanks to ZO6 VETTE. COM for their support this season. To all the RACERS Thanks for your continued support. See everyone next month when we crown our FIRST CHAMPION.
